Readmio: A fairytale mobile app with voice-based sound effects
Readmio is a unique mobile application that supports family reading. Our team developed and optimized an advanced speech recognizer built on Deep Neural Networks (DNN). The system runs fully offline directly on the smartphone, tracks the text read by the parent in real time, and triggers accompanying illustrative sounds (e.g., wind blowing, dog barking) at exactly the right moment. The application won several international awards, including the Startup World Cup & Summit.

EWA: Early warning of Alzheimer
EWA is an innovative Slovak mobile application capable of detecting the first symptoms of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease directly from a person’s speech. The user describes images displayed on the screen, and the system captures even the smallest speech anomalies undetectable by the human ear. This can flag risks up to years earlier than standard medical examinations.
We received the prestigious IT Product of the Year 2023 award for this scientific contribution and for creating the diagnostic core of the application.
Our Department’s Contribution: We trained a neural network to identify symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases, including speech structure, pauses, repetition loops, and overall speech coherence.

APD: Automatic Dictation Transcription
A professional speech-to-text system designed for the Slovak judiciary.
The system allows judges to seamlessly dictate court rulings or minutes. The software transforms speech into text in real time with exceptionally high accuracy. It features a massive vocabulary specialized in Slovak legal and legislative terminology, and effortlessly handles specific syntax and punctuation dictation.
